The Marshalltown Girls Soccer team played their regional semifinal game against the Dowling Catholic Maroons last night. Unfortunately for the Bobcats, the Maroons to be too tough to tame as the Cats fell by a final score of 6-0. That loss concludes the Bobcat’s season at a final record of 12-6, while Dowling moves on to the Regional Final against Ankeny.

 

The Bobcat Softball team got their season started last night as they took on the Newton Cardinals. Newton got the ball rolling early with a pair of runs in the top of the first, and they wouldn’t look back. They knock off Marshalltown by a final score of 7-2. Marshalltown Softball will take the diamond again with a double-header tonight at Mason City.

 

Bobcat boys baseball had a rough pair of outings last night as they took on the Des Moines Roosevelt Roughriders in a double-header. The Roughriders made quick work of the Cats scoring 26 runs over the first three innings, ending the game in an early mercy rule. The second game wasn’t much better, although the Bobcats did find some runs in the fourth inning. The runs were all for not as they fell to the mercy rule once again with a final score of 20-2. The bobcats will look to bounce back tonight as they also head to Mason City to take on the Riverhawks.

The Marshalltown Girls Golf team heads to Ankeny and the Otter Creek Golf Course for the first day of the State Tournament today. They’ll take to the links at 9am today and look to build off their second place finish at the regional tournament earlier this month.
