The Bobcat Softball team had a double-header last night against Ottumwa. The Marshalltown girls fought hard in game one, but fell 5-4. They’d get their revenge in the night cap, however, holding the Bulldogs to just one run. The Cats emerged victorious 3-1, earning the series split. They’ll be back in action tonight as they host the Mason City Riverhawks right here in Marshalltown. The two teams played earlier this year, with the Cats emerging victorious in both games. They’ll look to do the same tonight.

As for the Bobcat Baseball team, their double-header with Ottumwa last night was far from rewarding. The cats were blanked in game one, falling by a final score of 18-0 in just 5 innings. The second game was not any better as Ottumwa scored 18 runs again, this time in just the first inning. The Bulldogs would tack on seven more runs in the game and the Cats managed to cross home plate just twice, falling 25-2 in four innings. The Cats will look to avenge a pair of early season losses to Mason City tonight. Both games will be streamed live on the KFJB TV YouTube and Facebook pages.
