The Marshalltown Bobcat Softball team hosted a double-header with Mason City last night looking to repeat their performance from earlier in the year as they took back-to-back games against the Riverhawks just a few games into the year. Unfortunately for the Cats, MC had other plans last night as they locked up game one 9-3, and continued their offensive prowess in game two, winning 15-6. The Cats will look to bounce back from losing 3 of their last four in the Rose Festival Tournament on Saturday.

The Bobcat Baseball team also hosted the Riverhawks in a double-header last night here in Marshalltown, and while they were able to keep deadlocked with MC at 2-2 through 5 innings, the visitors pulled away late in game one, winning 6-2. The Riverhawks built on that momentum as they gave the Bobcats little to no chance in the night cap, blowing out the Cats 13-2. The Cats continue to struggle as they’ll have almost a full week of rest to get their feet set for a date with the DSM North Polar Bears on Wednesday.
