Continuing in my conversation with Chief Tupper, we briefly discussed the update to the speed cameras currently in Marshalltown. Following a law that Governor Reynolds recently signed, the city needed to update its signage and ordinance in order to issue citations with the stationary speed cameras on Governor Road and on Lincoln Way.
Tupper says the ordinance has been updated, so now once the signage is up, the community will be updated and citations will once again start going out.
Tupper says speeding is the number one complaint that he hears about every day in the community, and with the safety issues that come with speeding, he believes lowering your speed is the most important way to keep yourself and the rest of the community safe on the roads.
