Recently the Marshall County Supervisors voted 2 – 1 to be part of the bike trail that will be from Marshalltown to Steamboat Rock. Marshall County will be committing up to $2 million over the next few years for this project.
That is Supervisor Carol Hibbs, who voted in support of this project. Supervisor Jaret Heil also voted to support this project, and using the courthouse project as example, they can find the money over 2 years. Supervisor Steve Salasek was the lone no vote.
The County is viewing this as investing $2 million to receive over $12 millions in return.
