The Marshalltown Bobcats baseball team traveled north to take on the Waterloo East Trojans. The Bobcats who have 4 wins on the season so far, thought the Trojans could bring win number 5 as the Trojans are 10 – 17 overall and 7 – 7 in the Iowa Alliance.
It was all Trojans in game 1 as they won 10 – 0. Game 2 was closer and 1 big inning for the Bobcats was not enough and they lost 9 – 5, pushing the Bobcat record to 4 – 27. The Bobcats will hit the diamond again on Monday when they host Nevada.
The Bobcat softball team also traveled north to take on the Waterloo East Trojans. The softball team has a record of 10 – 21 heading into the games last night. The Trojans were winless in the Iowa Alliance 0 – 14 so far this season. The Bobcats open game 1 with a big 12 – 7 win.
Game 2 was a different story as the Trojans stormed out of the gates scoring 8 runs in the first 2 and 1/3 innings. The Bobcats rally for 7 runs but could not overcome the defect and lost 9 – 7. The Softball team will get a break over the weekend and is set to host Nevada on Monday.
