Yesterday started the absentee voting for the Marshalltown Ward 4 City Council vacancy. Absentee voting can be done in the Auditor/Recorders office on the 3rd Floor of the Marshall County Courthouse. The race is between Mark Eaton and Melisa Fonseca. Eaton can be found at most council and county meetings throughout the month.
Eaton has been vocal about getting the roads fixed in Marshalltown
Melisa Fonseca is a local realtor who wants to bring a young female perspective to the Council.
Fonseca shares that 40% of Marshalltown is Hispanic or Asian, yet the City Council does not represent that. She feels she can help bridge that gap
Those who live in Ward 4, the Special Election date is July 16th. Stop into the Auditor/Recorders office now to cast your early vote.
