The Athene North Shore Recreation Area has only been open for a few months, but it is making a major impact on Central Iowa.  Jessica Lown is the Community Outreach Supervisor and she shares what makes this area unique.

Lown says this is a space anyone can come together to recreate safely, effectively, and build community.  This idea started back before the 2020 pandemic and a lot of research went into what amenities to have at the park

Check out all the amenities online at northshorerecarea.org.  They have equipment people can rent for the day as well, whether that’s a kayak, paddleboards, or trikes.
