The State Street project in downtown Marshalltown was much more than just repaving the roads.  The entire infrastructure was also worked on, from water mains to sewer lines.

That is Public Works Director Heather Thomas, she says that people will start to actually see the progress now as the road begins to take shape.  Throughout this nearly 2 year project redoing State Street, all businesses are still open.

Thomas has mentioned that the completion date of this project is the end of August and even with the wet weather this spring/summer, that date has not changed.
