The annual Iowa reserve Peace Officers Association Training Seminar and Shooting Competition is coming up this weekend. Marshall County Sheriff, Joel Phillips, says the Seminar and Training will take place at the Marshall County Sheriffs Office beginning August 16th. Sheriff Phillips says you have to be a Peace Officer to participate but anyone can spectate the shooting competition.
Peace Officers will use their on duty weapons, shot gun, and other semi-automatic weapons during the competition. He mentions how many people will be here to participate.
Phillips says the Iowa State Reserve Law Enforcement Association was created in Marshalltown back in 1972 by Robert Schubert.
