As of Thursday, August 22nd, the price of regular unleaded gasoline averaged $3.18 across Iowa according to AAA. Prices fell 8 cents from last week’s price and are down 47 cents from a year ago. The national average on Thursday was $3.39, down 6 cents from last week’s price but still 21 cents higher than the average price in Iowa.

Retail diesel prices in Iowa fell 1 cent this week with a statewide average of $3.49. One year ago, diesel prices averaged $4.11 in Iowa. The current Iowa diesel price is 24 cents lower than the national average of $3.73.

Natural gas prices fell 16 cents at the Henry Hub reporting site and are currently priced at $2.05/MMbtu.
