Many schools across Marshall County went back to school on Friday last week, the first day the State of Iowa allows schools to start.  With a new school year, means a new crop of young drivers on the roadways.

That is Marshall County Sheriff Joel Phillip who wants to remind the public to be alert on the roadways.  Especially now that the big yellow school buses are out on the roads.

When driving early in the morning or in the midafternoon, be aware of school buses and the frequent stops they make.  The first offense for not stopping for a school bus is a fine of $345 and that could go up to $900
