On Friday, we were joined by Jim Bonser with Amateur Astronomers of Central Iowa. He informed our listeners of when and where they meet throughout the summer and into the fall.

They meet every second Friday of each month, and typically constellations show up about an hour after sunset. Not only does the group pick out constellations, but also certain planets like Saturn.

He says that right about now, Saturn looks a little bit different than the pictures you and I are used to seeing in books and online.

If anyone would like to join the Amateur Astronomers of Central Iowa, you can visit the webpage by searching for Amateur Astronomers of Central Iowa online, and the cost is $20 for the year.
