According to the Newton Police Department, on September 18th a post on social media was circulating about a protentional school shooting. There was a Facebook post where a juvenile stated he was going to shoot up every school the next day.
The Newton Police were notified of the post and located the juvenile. The Juvenile admitted to posting the threat and later the Newton Police learned about firearms at his residence. The juvenile was transported to Central Iowa Detention in Eldora.
The Juvenile has been charged with Threat of Terrorism, a Class D Felony, and Harassment 1st Degree, an Aggravated Misdemeanor.
