The Marshalltown City Council Meeting had David Hicks give a report on the MPACT program, Marshalltown Police and Community Team.  Hicks, Marshall County YSS Director, reminds the councilors that it was 4 years ago when MPACT started.  He reviews the data from the Police Department, which had an 82% response rate.

Hicks shares that 100% of the officers support MPACTS continued support with the Marshalltown Police Department.  In other words, the Police Officers want this program to continue.

This program is giving people the help they need, while allowing the Police Officers to focus on other crime in our community. MPACT will face a big issue at the end of next year.

Hicks and Police Chief Mike Tupper are looking for any way to keep this program alive and rolling.  Initially the City Council gave $150,000 to get the program started.
