A new show on KFJB this fall is Iowa Ag Matters, which airs from 10am – 11am each day. The host of the show, Andy Peterson, joined the Kyle Martin Show this week to discuss the harvest as it is just beginning for some farmers across the state. He was in the Eddyville area earlier this week picking corn.
There are still parts of the state that are in moderate drought, while most of the state is still considered abnormally dry. Peterson says its been 2 growing seasons this year with the rain at the beginning of the spring and dry at the end of summer.
Peterson reminds listeners that only 10% of the corn and 9% of the beans have been picked so a lot can change once more fields are finished.
