The Marshalltown Area has about 200 girls signed up participating in Girl Scouts.  Samie Swinton, Vice President of Marketing and Communication, tells KFJB listeners how the program works in our area.  She says the girls are usually in groups that are 2 grade levels.

In small towns there will be multi-level troops where multiple grade levels will work together.  This does bring out some mentoring opportunities for the young ladies.  The program is supposed to be girl led.

Now is the time to join Girl Scouts, it costs $25 to join for adults and youth.  If the cost is a problem, the money the Girl Scouts receives from the Marshalltown Area United Way goes to help anyone with finances.  Contact the Girls Scouts of Greater Iowa at girlscoutsiowa.org
