One of the big topics with the Marshalltown Community School District is the bond for Miller Middle School.  Miller turned 100 years old this year and is in need of some major upgrades.  November 5th, Marshalltown residents will vote to approve or deny the $57 million bond.

That is Randy Denham, Director of Business Operations for the School District.  Initially there were 3 different ideas to reimagine Miller Middle school.  Option 1 to do light work inside the school, 2 was to tear it down to the bones and rebuild, and the final option was to build a new school.  Ultimately the 2nd option was picked.

That is Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Theron Schutte.  He says there was a community stakeholder group of roughly 25 people who made a recommendation.  The bond vote will need 60% support on November 5th to pass.
