Those that live in the small townships or out in rural Marshall County will be voting on LOST during this election. Jaret Heil, Marshall County Supervisor Chairman, explains what people will be voting on.
Heil shares that 50% of the funds goes towards property tax relief and the other 50% goes towards roads and bridges across the county. LOST comes from a 1% tax on goods and services sold in Marshall County.
No matter what this 1% will be collected, so the vote is about keeping that money in Marshall County. Early voting has started and Marshall County residents can vote at the Election Center in Marshalltown. The election date is November 5th.
