Farmers have been asking for rain for a long time, as Iowa has seen drought conditions somewhere in the state for 4 years running.  Dry conditions also affect those that live in town, especially when it comes to Open Burning.  The City of Marshalltown is in the fall period of open burning, and they ask people take all precautions before burning, like wind speed.

That is the City of Marshalltown’s Fire Marshal, Josh Warnell.  He says to keep a means to extinguish the fire nearby

Warnell says if you are unsure or do not feel confident, do not start a fire.  There are still means to get rid of yard waste at the compost facility.  Open Burn will last until the end of November.
