On Thursday, October 24, around 9:15 PM, the Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a fire in a second-floor room at the Super 8 Motel. Firefighters arrived to find smoke coming from a window, quickly extinguishing a small fire near the bed using a water extinguisher. The building was evacuated, but no injuries were reported, and operations resumed shortly after. The fire’s cause is under investigation, and Marshalltown Police assisted at the scene.
