He says fall is the start of the mating season for deer, which means they are moving around more. Sheriff Phillips says Iowa is ranked 7th in the Nation for the risk of wildlife vehicle collisions. He shares some tips for drivers.
Sheriff Phillips shares that most of the injuries with accidents involving deer are caused by swerving to avoid the animal.
If you do hit a deer, Sheriff Phillips says to get your vehicle off the road as quick as possible and call law enforcement.
