The Iowa Supreme Court will be hearing oral arguments in Marshalltown on Tuesday, November 19th. This is something that start in 2011 to allow more people see the judicial process. Steve Davis, Communication Director with the Iowa Judicial Branch, says oral arguments are always open to the public.
The location to hear oral arguments does not necessarily coincide with the case. The case that will be in Marshalltown is the State of Iowa vs Artell Young coming from the Polk County District Court.
The Oral Arguments will be heard November 19th at the Marshalltown High School Performing Arts Center beginning at 7pm. This should take about 45 minutes and after the arguments are heard there will be a reception.
