The City Council has decided to allocate some ARPA funds to support MPACT, Marshalltown Police and Community Team, giving them funding through all of 2026. MPACT started a few years back under the leadership of Police Chief Mike Tupper. He says getting these dollars is huge

Chief Tupper says one of the goals for the next Police Chief, Capt. Chris Jones, is to find long term funding. Chief Tupper is retiring at the end of January, and this program will leave Marshalltown in a better place than when he started nearly 15 years ago.

They have been a model for other communities as advocates and officers have gone to national conferences to discuss the successes and struggles of the MPACT program
