According to AAA Iowa, the West North Central Region will have 9.1 million travelers going 50 miles or more during the holidays and new year. While this is not a record, it is growing from last years numbers. With Christmas in the middle of the week, that has spread out travel.

That is Brian Ortner, Public Affairs Specialist with AAA Iowa. He shares that some of the busiest travel times before Christmas will be this upcoming weekend.

Similar to Thanksgiving, the mornings will be the best time to hit the roads during the day. The best days to travel are Christmas Eve and Christmas.
