As of Wednesday, December 18th, the price of regular unleaded gasoline averaged $2.74 across Iowa according to AAA. Prices rose 4 cents from last week’s price and are down 2 cents from a year ago. The national average on Wednesday was $3.03, up 1 cent from last week’s price but still 29 cents higher than the average price in Iowa.

Retail diesel prices in Iowa rose 4 cents this week with a statewide average of $3.29. One year ago, diesel prices averaged $3.74 in Iowa. The current Iowa diesel price is 22 cents lower than the national average of $3.51.

Natural gas prices held steady at the Henry Hub reporting site and are currently priced at $3.38/MMbtu.
