Yesterday was the first day that the green flags were out at the Ice Rink in downtown Marshalltown. The Ice Rink was first brought to Marshalltown last year by the Iowa Wild and MARSHALLTOWN Company. Along with many other businesses in the community, the rink was built on the corner of Center St. and Main St.
There are benches people can sit and drink hot cocoa while watching others skate. The green flags means the ice rink is open, while red flags indicate that it is closed. People can rent out ice skates from the Park and Rec office for a day or night. Stop by when they are open 8:30 – 4:30 Monday – Friday.
