Winter weather is officially here and the Marshalltown Community School District has already had to reschedule some basketball games due to the weather. There are many different reasons school could be cancelled or delayed, snow, ice, or temperature are the main reasons.

That is Marshalltown Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Theron Schutte. When it comes to the cold temperature, he says there are some indicators they are looking for.

At -15 and below, the diesel can begin to gel up and become a problem in the buses. He says the best way for parents to get any information about a late start or cancellation is to be connected to infinite campus.
