Last month the Marshall County Supervisors opened blind bids for the Sheriffs Office and all of the bids came in over budget. Of the 6 different bids, the closest bid was $3.7 million which is roughly $1.5 million over budget.
That is Marshall County Sheriff Joel Phillips who joined the KFJB line yesterday morning. He mentions the laundry and food service are two areas that have to be operating 24/7, even through construction.
On December 31st, the County Supervisors did lock in the ARPA funds, about $2.2 million, to be designated for this project.
