Marshalltown, Marshall County, and Trails Inc were all waiting to hear back from the Federal Government about a grant proposed to finish the bike trail from Marshalltown to Steamboat Rock.

That is Jeff Schneider who is part of Trails Inc and a Marshalltown City Councilor. While this is not good news, Schneider says they have been working on a plan B.

He says the Hardin County group has been working hard to get their piece figured out to get to the south fork of the Iowa River. While the big grant does not come in, momentum is still rolling and we should see progress on the trial in 2025.
