The Zearing Volunteer Fire and EMS Departments put on an annual Ice Fishing derby and 2025 is the 10th annual derby. The event raises money for each department and traditionally has over 150 people registered for the event. Dave Skinner with the Zearing Fire Department shares some details about the event.

The Youth division is age 15 and under, registration for both backets is $10. There are prizes and trophies offered in each division.

Skinner says people can get registered ahead of time by heading to zearingiowa.com or people can register on site day of beginning at 6:30am. Your entry fee includes a chili lunch in their heated shack.
