Last night the Waterloo East Trojans came to the Roundhouse for a doubleheader on the hardwood. KFJB News Director Zach Tomesch has the report
[TrojanWrap1] :
The Bobcat girls started the night by breaking the press from Waterloo East, but could not find a rhythm on offense. The cross court passes kept being picked off and that led to easy fast break points for the Trojans. At halftime the Trojans were ahead 26 to 9.
The 3rd quarter was a different story as the Bobcats found their offense and scored 12 points and cut into the Trojan lead. The Bobcats could only cut the lead to 13 and eventually the Trojans pull away and win 43-27.
For the Boys, it was an exciting game that came down to the wire. The Trojans jumped out to a quick 5 point lead and stretched that to 8 by halftime. The 2nd half was all about Junior sharpshooter, Kyle Smith. Smith could not miss from all 3 levels of the court as he hit multiple 3 pointers and turn around jumpers. Smith helps the Bobcats find the lead at the end of the 3rd quarter 44-39.
On senior night, Adam Boone scored 3 points late with a free throw and layup that seals the game for the Bobcats as they win 58-54 giving the Bobcats their 5th win on the season. The Bobcats will travel to Ames on Tuesday next week for a doubleheader.
