At the last Marshalltown City Council meeting, Police Captain Keil Stevenson gave a presentation about the Flock Cameras. He first mentions that Flock is the brand of camera that the city purchased. Capt. Stevenson next explains what they use the cameras for.

He explains the situations where the cameras would ping officers. It is not for an expired tag.

He goes on to say that the cameras are a force multiplier

He reiterates that the Flock Cameras around town do not write tickets and do not catch speeders. The only camera in Marshalltown that will ticket you for speed is on Lincoln Way coming into town, just before the Lincoln Towers.
