Yesterday afternoon, the Marshalltown Fire Department was notified of a residential fire. Around 4pm, the Marshalltown Fire Department was dispatched to 505 E Church Street for a fire and trapped victim.

The Marshalltown Police Department was the first to arrive on scene and instructed the fire fighters to help the victim located on the 2nd floor. Once fire fighters entered the house, they located the victim unconscious on the 2nd floor. Once outside of the structure, CPR was immediately given to the victim. EMS arrived shortly after and transported the patient from scene.

The patient had been resuscitated and was air lifted to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in critical condition. The fire was quickly brought under control with 2 attack lines. The fire is under investigation by the Marshalltown Fire and Police Department.
