If you want to try Maple Syrup tapped from trees in Marshall County, you are in luck. The Pancake Feed at Grimes Farm is coming up on Saturday, March 1st where they try Maple Syrup from the trees at Grammer Grove. Conservation Director, Emily Herring, says they tap sugar maples, or black maples.
Herring says once the sap turns it has a fishy flavor. She says it takes 40 gallons of sap to make 1 gallon of syrup. The syrup will be ready for the pancake feed.
People can get tickets by stopping out to the Grimes Farm or calling out there. Learn more online at marshallcountyia.gov
