Marshalltown’s new Police Chief, Chris Jones, stopped by the KFJB studio yesterday to talk about their upcoming Citizens Academy. As the former Police Captain, the Citizens Academy was something that he would oversee. This is a 10 week course starting March 11th.

This is a free program where participants will get to see the ins and outs of what the Police Department does. At the end of the course, there are some opportunities to try out a few of the tools and systems.

Chief Jones says this program is to let citizens further understand what Police Work is, but also to continue to build that bridge between the Police Department and the Public
