A big honor was presented to a Marshalltown High School Senior at the Monday School Board Meeting. Owen Eaton is a finalist for the 2025 National Merit Scholarship.

That is Superintendent of the Marshalltown Community School District, Dr. Theron Schutte. Eaton was at the meeting Monday.

Eaton scored in the top 1% of the state in the PreSAT, putting him in a pool of the top 1,500 test takers. Eaton will have Associate Degrees in Physics, Engineering, Math, and Liberal Arts. He plans to major Physics and Mechanical Engineering at Iowa State.
