Last night at the Marshalltown Community School Board Meeting, it was discussed adding middle school tennis for boys and girls. Head Tennis Coach, James Christiansen, shares the work he has put in to make this happen. He says there are 3 other school districts seriously considering adding tennis.

Coach Christiansen says adding Tennis to the middle school will help students try out the sport sooner and it could help the numbers on the high school level.

He says at the moment they are unsure if the boys and girls will be separate, that depends on the number of players

Christiansen shares that the new tennis season will not overlap with any other sports at the middle school level. He also shares that Girls Tennis will be a fall sport at the high school level next school year.
