Yesterday was the LOSST, Local Option Sales and Service Tax, vote in the unincorporated areas of Marshall County. A total of 628 ballots were cast and 609 of them were in favor of LOSST. This means the 1% sales tax that is collected will stay in Marshall County budgets.
This accounts to about $1.7 million and 50% will go towards bridges and culverts while the other 50% goes towards property tax relief.
