The Marshall County Sheriffs Office has been busy with issues along our highways. Tuesday a semi-truck crashed at the highway 330/30 interchange. The semi-truck was hauling a tractor and it rammed through a guardrail on 330, barreled down the embankment and ended up on highway 30. When deputies arrived, they located the driver still in the cab and the semi had caught fire.
That is Marshall County Sheriff Joel Phillips. He said the driver was identified as Richard James Wenger, 69 of Fairbank, Iowa. The sheriff says there was no other vehicle involved in this accident and it is an on-going investigation. Then yesterday with the weather, Sheriff Phillips and his team were helping with a semi crashed across the road.
Sheriff Phillips did issue a tow-ban yesterday with the weather and he says whenever that goes into effect people should consider staying home and not traveling.
