Back in November, the Marshalltown Police Department began an investigation into an individual after an organization reported misappropriated money form their bank accounts. The person accused was April McKibbin, of Marshalltown, who was in charge of handling funds. The organization then provided the police department with fictitious bank accounts that McKibbin has provided to attempt to cover up her crimes.
Through the investigation the Police found that McKibbin had misappropriated money belonging to another organization. In total, the police found McKibbin stole over $40,000 between the two organizations.
Charges were filed against McKibbin and she turned herself in on Friday March 7th. McKibbin has been charged with Theft in the 1st degree, Theft in the 2nd degree, and Forgery, all three are felonies.
This investigation remains ongoing, anyone with further information is asked to reach out to the Marshalltown Police Department.
