Marshalltown Public Works Director Heather Thomas hopped into the show yesterday to give the town an update on the revitalizations of the building at 21 W Main St. here in Marshalltown. The building was acquired by the city in 2022 through a court-ordered sale.

21 W Main St. was part of the DTR or Downtown Renovations buildings that the city went through and started repairing and putting back together again, and this week, Thomas took photos to the City Council meeting to show the back side of the building, as well as the shared walls with other buildings.

Thomas shared that the City Council voted to proceed with the city taking on this project using leftover funds previously designated from LOSST to that DTR project that was wrapped up. She added they have about $200,000 to improve and stabilize this building.
