M.I.C.A., Mid-Iowa Community Action, is located off of 18th Ave. in Marshalltown and covers a 5-county area in Central Iowa. Their goal is to fight poverty and have many programs to help people in different ways. One program is their LiHEAP program, or energy assistance.

That is MICA resource Development and Communications Coordinator, Abra Dougherty. She says that people who are at 200% of the poverty line are eligible for this program.

Dougherty says people can visit their website, MICAonline.org to learn more about the application process or stop out to their office. All of their services have moved to their 18th Ave. location in the fall of 2024.
