This year marks 20 years doing County Endowment Grants through the Community Foundation. Julie Hitchens is the Executive Director of the Community Foundation of Marshall County and their grant ceremony is coming up this week. Hitchens shares where this money comes from.

$35,000 of the total will be coming from the Martha Ellen Tye Foundation and the student groups will be grant out those dollars. The state started the Community Foundations 20 years ago to give casino money back to communities without a casino.

Hitchens says the grant ceremony on Tuesday night is not open to the public as they need all the seats. She will be on the Chamber Show Wednesday morning to talk about the ceremony and grants given out this cycle.
