Every year the Marshalltown Community Theatre puts on a play writing competition. New this year they are doing a live read of some of the plays that won. Pete Grady with the Marshalltown Community Theatre, shares some of the details.
While the plays won’t be acted out in a full production, people will still be able to hear the stories written by a local community member. Grady describes the plays for tonight.
On July 13th, the show is about farmers trying to deal with a new herbicide which brings great yields but a negative affect to the community. The readings will take place at the Orpheum Theatre, doors open at 7pm both nights. The readings are free for the public.
