As of Wednesday, August 28th, the price of regular unleaded gasoline averaged $3.14 across Iowa according to AAA. Prices fell 4 cents from last week’s price and are down 43 cents from a year ago. The national average on Wednesday was $3.36, down 3 cents from last week’s price but still 22 cents higher than the average price in Iowa.
Retail diesel prices in Iowa fell 3 cents this week with a statewide average of $3.46. One year ago, diesel prices averaged $4.13 in Iowa. The current Iowa diesel price is 25 cents lower than the national average of $3.71.
Natural gas prices rose 7 cents at the Henry Hub reporting site and are currently priced at $2.12/MMbtu. (Million British thermal units)
