Tim Castle, Professor of Art at Marshalltown Community College, is starting his 26th year teaching Art.  He has seen the community embrace art over his time in Central Iowa, which can be seen with the many murals and sculptures around town.  He shares why art is important for communities.

Castle says there are a lot of creative people in our community and they should be celebrated.  Art can be an escape from the daily hustle and bustle.  Whether that is enjoying a gallery or trying to create something on your own.

Castle says that he doesn’t talk about talent in any of his classes.  He feels if anyone has the desire to try art, he can squeeze the talent out of anyone.  Learn more about Castle’s teaching and Artwork by visiting the Ray Fredrick Gallery this month.
