The word is out, Geoff Hubbard, Marshalltown’s Park and Recreation Director, will be leaving Marshalltown and heading to Johnston. Hubbard shared his plans with the staff earlier this week that his last day will be October 14th. Hubbard talks about his nearly 6 years as the Park and Recreation Director of his hometown.
Hubbard says Marshalltown will always be his hometown and he has a sense of pride creating new opportunities for families during his time here.
While Hubbard has a lot of memories here, this opportunity will allow him to see more of his wife and kids.
Hubbard says that in all of his projects multiple people have been working on them and those teams will pick up the slack when he leaves. He mentioned that the city is ahead on the Parks Master Plan, so this was a good time to make a transition.
