The City of Marshalltown hired Carol Webb to be the new City Administrator, she started officially September 3rd. Webb comes from Muscatine, a similar sized town to Marshalltown from the Eastern side of the state. They had some major road projects during her time there.
While we have the major road project looming with Main Street, there are more roads in Marshalltown than Main St. and State St. Webb has a plan to assess and tackle those too.
Webb says that the city does get Road Use Tax and that is typically the revenue source used for road and pavement improvements. She admits not every road will need a complete overhaul, some it just a simple repaving or patching.
