As of Wednesday, October 2nd, the price of regular unleaded gasoline averaged $2.99 across Iowa according to AAA. Prices fell 5 cents from last week’s price and are down 55 cents from a year ago. The national average on Wednesday was $3.20, down 1 cent from last week’s price but still 21 cents higher than the average price in Iowa.
Retail diesel prices in Iowa fell 2 cents this week with a statewide average of $3.32. One year ago, diesel prices averaged $4.30 in Iowa. The current Iowa diesel price is 25 cents lower than the national average of $3.57.
Natural gas prices rose 13 cents at the Henry Hub reporting site and are currently priced at $2.96/MMbtu
